Description
On April 3, there was a big Astrofest in the premises of Shaheed Nurul Hossain College, at Kashinathpur, Pabna, a village which lies about 60 miles west of Dhaka. It was jointly organized by Bangladesh Astronomical Society, Skylark International School and Shahid Nurul Hossain College. It was inaugurated by Launching of a Water Rocket. Among those who delivered their lectures in the Meeting were Dr.Ali Asgar, former Head of the Department of Physics, Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology, Dhaka, Dr.Farida Begum, Scientific Officer Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Dhaka, Mr.F.R.Sarker, General Secretary, Bangladesh Astronomical Society and SPoC for IYA2009, Mrs.Hasina Rahman, a Space Enthusiast, Mr.Fazlur Rahman,Director of Skylark International School, Mr.Shamsur Rahman, Principal, Shahid Nurul Hossain College, Mr. Abu Bakker Siddique, Head Master, Dariapur High School etc. It was followed by a Question-Answer Session, Video Show and Sky Observation with Telescope.
